Laurent Benezra, Director, President and Chief Executive Officer

Laurent Benezra is passionate about business development and the latest technologies. He has over 16 years of experience in the financial sector with major Canadian brokerage firms and banks. Prior to joining Intema as Executive Vice-President, he worked at Manulife Securities, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Scotiabank and TD Waterhouse, specifically in wealth management, securities trading and banking services. Mr. Benezra is also a chartered investment manager and a certified blockchain expert.

Michael Curtis, Director

Michael Curtis is a seasoned executive having over 45 years of experience in the Canadian financial industry in the areas of trading, research, corporate finance and the management of public companies. In 1998, he founded and became President and Director of Cardwell Capital Inc., a private investment and trading corporation that invests in small and mid-capitalization public companies trading in North American markets. He has also worked closely with Intrepid Financial, a Canadian investment and advisory firm with a focus on the natural resource and technology sectors that has raised over $2B for its portfolio companies. Mr. Curtis is presently a Board member of Quinto Resources and Cellstop Systems, both publicly listed companies.

Réal Desjardins, Director

Turnaround specialist for over 25 years, Real Desjardins works in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. He has worked in the printing industry and in paper manufacturing and distribution. He transformed several dysfunctional factories into models of efficiency and profitability. He is considered as a top specialist in difficult and complex turnaround situations. Mr. Desjardins excels at gathering the necessary resources to maintain service and to maximize staff potential.

Claude Théoret, Director and Chief Operating Officer

Claude Théoret has broad experience in high technology companies and was the founder of Nexalogy, a social data discovery startup and a Canadian leader in AI and social data intelligence. A former astrophysicist, he has worked with big data since its inception, having had his first website in 1994 and worked with big data before it was recognized as such. He is one of the top 40 startup mentors in the Founder Institute global network and recently participated in the launch of the OSMO Innovation program, a corporate open innovation accelerator. Mr. Théoret is also a published scientific author and holds a Ph.D. in high energy astrophysics from McGill University.

Michael Wagen, Director

Michael Wagen is an entrepreneur and chief executive with over 40 years of experience leading and growing companies domestically and internationally. He is presently Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Delmar International Inc., a leading North American provider of freight forwarding, custom brokerage, warehousing and ground services, operating in over 15 countries, with over 2,500 employees. Over the course of his career, he has led global operations and strategic direction, including long-range planning, global product and service management, and technological design and development, and provided cross-functional management to the global leadership team.

Elise Vandoorne, CPA, CA, Chief Financial Officer

Elise Vandoorne has over 25 years of experience as a corporate accountant in various sectors including manufacturing, retail trade, franchising, distribution and services for Canadian, American and European companies. For the last 10 years, she has worked as a consultant and has been actively involved in the management of several organizations. Prior to that, she held positions of Finance Director and Vice President, Finance, for Canadian and American companies. She graduated with a BAA from HEC Montréal in 1991 and earned her CA degree in 1993.

Sébastien Plourde, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Sébastien Plourde is an information technology expert and lead programmer with extensive experience in web applications. As the Head of Intema's Research, Development and Technology departments, he is the chief architect of several digital marketing software solutions and algorithms. With an in-depth knowledge of digital marketing's principles and foundations, he began his Internet journey in 1993.

Daniel Drouet, Vice President, Products

Daniel Drouet has been deeply involved with tech startups as an entrepreneur, investor and mentor for over 15 years. He has broad management experience with particular expertise in product management, software development and venture financing. He has conceived and overseen the delivery of numerous software products and IT services and founded several software companies, as well as Canada's most active tech-focused venture capital fund. An engineer by training, he spent several years designing networks and providing consulting services to telecom operators across North America, Africa and the Middle East. Daniel holds degrees in both Economics and Electrical Engineering from McGill University.
